The Netherlands Antilles is a country within the Kingdom of The Netherlands. It currently consists of five island areas in the southern Caribbean Sea, named Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius and St Martin.
Though not a member of the European Union, The Netherlands Antilles is affiliated to the EU, an arrangement which offers significant tax advantages. Curaçao Strategically placed between South America, the United States and Europe, Curaçao has an excellent physical and financial infrastructure. Curaçao is one of the five islands that make up The Netherlands Antilles and of the five islands, Curaçao has traditionally been the island with by far the biggest international financial industry. | The international financial services sector is, along with tourism, the most important pillar of the economy. Curaçao offers a very favourable fiscal environment for businesses and individuals alike. With its infrastructure, highly qualified personnel, multi-lingual background and strategic location, Curaçao is the ideal jurisdiction for investors and entrepreneurs.
Bonaire From January 2010 Bonaire, Statia en Saba (BES) will no longer be part of The Netherlands Antilles. The Dutch State Secretary of Finance announced that from January 2011 the tax system of the BES islands will be simplified, including a reduction in income tax and profit tax. With the possibility that some companies might find Bonaire more favourable than Curaçao, Equity Trust Bonaire has been incorporated since 2009. |
